A group of venture companies that Livanes Co., Ltd. has consistently identified since 2014—those with a high degree of uniqueness, innovation, and growth potential, and that continue to take on the challenge of solving social issues—"L-VENTURES」。

One such company, Saguri Co., Ltd., created and released the “Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake Damage Information Map,” which allows users to view the extent of the damage on a map, in response to the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake.

Saguri, Inc. is a venture company that leverages satellite data and AI to address challenges in the agriculture and environmental sectors. In 2021, it was selected for L-VENTURES’ startup division.

Public information and satellite analysis are updated approximately every 10 minutes

This map incorporates information from government agencies and major media outlets, as well as satellite analysis data released by JAXA and on-the-ground reports shared on social media, all of which are displayed on the map.

Given the urgency immediately following the disaster, the information is currently being automatically updated approximately every 10 minutes.

Updating the map with damage reports from the field

If you are in the area, you can help update the map with local information by sending photos of the damage and your location via LINE.

When providing information, please include the following details.

  • Photos showing the extent of the damage
  • Location information, such as latitude and longitude
  • Additional Information Regarding Sources and Local Conditions

The AI evaluates the reliability of the provided information—including its sources and content—and reflects it on the map.

Development Prioritizing Speed Using AI Agents

This map was developed with a focus on speed, utilizing AI agents to deliver the information needed in disaster-affected areas as quickly as possible.

At this time, there may be some issues with functionality or display, but we will continue to make improvements as needed based on feedback from users and the field.

Given the limited availability of existing damage maps, Saguri Co., Ltd. decided that “it’s better to create something and share it than to do nothing at all,” and has therefore released this map.

Going forward, we plan to expand this initiative into a damage information map—which will include data from social media—for use by the national government, Kumamoto Prefecture, and disaster prevention agencies. Additionally, should specific requests be received from disaster-affected areas, we are considering the rapid provision of a digital map app that will enable relevant parties to share and manage information.

Through the Ribanes Resilience Project, L-VENTURES We will promote initiatives that harness the technology and drive of startups—including [Company Name]—to address disasters and solve local challenges.
