Compact tower type concentrator solar system

summary
We are developing a compact tower-type heat-and-power cogeneration ZEH system with a rotational tracking system that can be installed even in conditions where roof-mounted solar equipment cannot be installed. Even with a small footprint, the system can use high-performance infrared absorption and a water-cooling mechanism to provide hot water, and the light-concentrating power generation cells enable high-efficiency power generation. In addition, this technology will contribute to improving disaster preparedness in many ways, such as desalination and ultraviolet sterilization.
Technical Strengths
The main features of this technology are a cylindrical solar concentrator with a group of rotating mirrors of about 1 square meter and the versatility and multifunctionality of switching the heat source power light source.
The ability to automatically track in the direction of the sun from sunrise to sunset has increased the operation rate by more than 1.5 times compared to conventional fixed systems, and it also has an application switching function, making it possible to prepare for a variety of disasters.
Case Studies (Including Demonstration Results)
- Municipalities served
- Sakai City (planned)
- Case Studies
- Preparedness at disaster prevention centers (gymnasiums), etc. in the event of a huge Nankai Trough earthquake. Provision of demonstration tests for securing power supply for communication, hot water for disinfection, etc. (planned)
- scale of implementation
- Testing of specifications required for information and communication during evacuation drills simulating a simulated disaster (power outage, gas, water) outage, etc. Also, verification of storage capacity and natural discharge rate during one day of sunny, cloudy, and rainy weather.
- Time to delivery
- About 120 days
- Price (if paid)
- test equipment on loan
Annual cost: 600,000 yen per year (50,000 yen per month) + installation cost
selling price
1.2 million yen (including installation cost) for 1 square meter model with full spec of combined heat and power supply
1,000,000 yen (including installation cost) for 1-square-meter model dedicated to hot water
*Price in 2025 - Other Case Studies
- Gas cost reduction units for single family homes.
Mainly, it can be used as a heat source for hot water for baths and showers used daily, and the steady increase in water temperature can reduce gas consumption. This is expected to be incorporated into mortgages for ZEH, etc. for propane gas households in rural areas. (Tests are scheduled to be conducted in Miyagi and Ibaraki households from April 2014 onward.)
How to use in peacetime
Steady energy savings because the light can be used as natural lighting indoors under normal circumstances.
In addition, because it can deliver natural light containing appropriate amounts of UV and IR indoors, it is highly valuable as an office light source for health care applications such as the production of vitamin D in the body and prevention of autonomic nervous system disorders, as well as in school gymnasiums because it can be expected to promote calcium absorption.
