Resilient Tech Social Implementation Spreading from Fukushima -Fukushima Tech Create Meetup Held

On August 26, 2025, the "Fukushima Tech Create (FTC) Meetup" was held at the Iwaki Industrial Creation Center. Adopted ventures, local companies, and local governments gathered to share their technologies and visions, and had active discussions about specific collaboration for social implementation in Fukushima.

This event is part of Fukushima Prefecture's "Innovation Creation Platform Project (FY2025)Fukushima Tech CreateThe event was held as a part of the "Space Venture Business Forum (SVCF)," in which 16 venture companies from diverse fields including space, energy, agriculture, and medicine presented their business concepts. Initiatives directly related to regional issues were introduced, including a radiation-compatible suit that uses space suit technology, a weed-generating methane fermentation system that can be operated even in times of disaster, and oceanographic data acquisition using a small unmanned boat.

During the exchange session, concrete consultations for demonstration and joint development proceeded. Participating ventures commented that they were able to discuss specific manufacturing issues, that it was valuable to hear directly from local government officials about their challenges, and that they were able to make contacts with financial institutions, which led to loans and introductions to local companies, confirming that the event went beyond mere information exchange and focused on next actions.

Many of the ventures participating in the LIBERNESS Resilience Project have also been selected for this project. Themes such as distributed energy, resource recycling, and disaster response have a high affinity with Fukushima's reconstruction and industrial development, and the demonstration in Fukushima will be very meaningful for this project.

The Reconstruction Agency is based on the Fukushima Innovation Coast Initiative.Blueprint for Industrial Development(revised June 6, 2025), which identifies robotics, renewable energy, and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries as priority areas. This meetup is positioned as a practical opportunity to connect these blueprints to concrete initiatives.
